Meru, Prepare Your Lungs: Nkeeru Cietu Is About to Shake The Pin Hideout (Neighbours Please Be Patient)
My dear and extremely loyal readers,
You already know the rules of this blog.
We do not waste ink discussing boring events where people sit quietly sipping soda like they are attending a church committee meeting.
No.
Here at Meru Daily, we highlight only the real highlights. The events that make people suddenly develop energy at 10pm and say things like, “Wacha nipitie tu nione vile kuko…”
And as you all know—whether competitors like it or not—this remains Meru’s favourite blog.
Now, speaking of highlights, let me tell you what is currently highlighting itself louder than a matatu conductor shouting “Makutano! Makutano!” at 6am.
A few months ago, Meru witnessed the birth of an entertainment joint that has been quietly causing panic in rival establishments.
Yes.
I am talking about The Pin Hideout Meru.
From Thuci all the way to Ntonyiri, people are pretending to mind their own business while secretly asking:
“Hii place inakuwanga aje sasa?”
Because when the people at The Pin decide to do something, they do not do it halfway like someone cooking tea without sugar.
No.
They do it with style, confidence, and a small touch of intimidation to competitors.
Even the name Hideout alone sounds like a place where serious enjoyment is hiding.
But this Saturday…
Eh.
This Saturday they have decided to raise the entertainment bar higher than Mount Kenya itself.
Let me now spill the beans properly—niwaelezee kinagaubaga.
The Hideout will be hosting a special Meru night known as Nkeeru Cietu.
And if that name doesn’t excite you immediately, please check your pulse.
Because things are about to get serious.
Now here comes the part that will make people start cancelling other plans.
The night will feature none other than Meru’s beloved songbird:
Karimi Bruno
Or as some of us respectfully call her…
Gachururiga.
Let me tell you something about this lady.
This is not the kind of singer who clears her throat and hopes for the best.
No.
Karimi Bruno has the kind of voice that can remove snakes from caves.
Yes.
Sauti ya kutoa nyoka pangoni.
When she performs, conversations stop, phones come out, and even that friend who said “Mimi sitaki kutoka leo” suddenly becomes the first person on the dance floor.
People don’t just listen.
They surrender.
But wait.
The Pin Hideout has decided that one legend is not enough.
Because joining her on stage will be none other than:
Kiana Kia Itharia
At this point even I must pause and clap slowly.
Pin Hideout…
Hapa mmeamua kuonyesha watu kazi.
Ata mimi sina maoni.
Now let us talk about the man who will be controlling the musical destiny of the night.
On the decks will be the one and only:
DJ TopNotch
The name says TopNotch.
And from what we hear, the performance is exactly that.
Top.
Notch.
The man does not play music.
He conducts happiness.
Now combine all that with good company, laughter, drinks, food, and that magical Meru weekend energy where people suddenly forget they have work on Monday.
This event has successfully been organised by Meru’s big boy of entertainment himselfu...Nakya The Hype DJ.
Tell me honestly…
How exactly do you plan to miss this?
Because if you skip this event, you will only hear the story later from someone who will start saying things like:
“Wee uliona vile Karimi alifanya watu wakasimama?”
“Na DJ alichapa mix ya mwisho watu wakakataa kuenda home!”
And by the time the story reaches you, it will already have been exaggerated by five different storytellers.
Which is why the best option is simple.
Attend. Witness. Confirm with your own eyes.
And remember our golden rule here at Meru Daily:
If you do not read it here, then one of two things has happened:
Either it did not happen,
or it was boring… and we do not report boring things.
So this Saturday, ladies and gentlemen,
Wear something respectable, bring your friends, and prepare your dancing legs.
Because we are meeting at The Pin Hideout to do what responsible Meru citizens do on weekends.
Tupige sherehe kama sheria.
Inshallah.
