Murugi’s Base on Fire (Again): Aquadel Pool Tournament September Edition

Haya basi, hayawi hayawi huwa. Our Swahili brothers said it best — and true indeed, the 6th of September Aquadel Sponsored Pool Tournament was nothing short of fire. Or should I say more fire🔥.
We were back at Murugi’s Base for the second time, and let me just say — grandeur doesn’t even begin to describe it. At exactly 5PM, the place was packed tighter than a matatu on market day. Even Murugi herself had to run around sourcing extra chairs, and still, people ended up watching from the windows like it was a free Netflix subscription. In short, this thing was sold out before it even started.

As the self-declared “press” (don’t argue), my eyes were glued to the opinion makers, sponsors, and influencers who came to sip their Aquadel water while pretending not to scout the competition.
Mr. Alex Muguna – Chairman of Aquadel Company, true to his word, showed up in full boss mode. Last time he told us these events would be happening monthly, and here we are. *Consistency, ladies and gentlemen.*
Mr. Kenneth Kinoti – the brains behind Thorn Expeditions, Aquadel’s adventure partner-in-crime, was in the building. Respect, sir.
Mr. Nicholas Koome – the petroleum mogul himself. Last week I told you about him, and clearly he caught the pool fever. The man looked like he had come to “observe” but trust me, the showdown left him speechless. Aquadel style does that.
Mr. Patrick “Bloko” Rungu – the CEO of Aquadel Drinking Water. Quiet, composed, occasionally doing CEO duties. Honestly, if there was an award for CEO of the Year, just hand it to Bloko and let’s move on.

Now, to the good stuff — the pool. Mikocheni, you guys redeemed yourselves. Finally. The practice paid off, squad changes made sense, and for once, you didn’t come to embarrass me on this blog. Keep that same energy next round.
Speaking of which, October 4th is already circled on our calendars. Prize money? A cool 25K. And word on the street is it might double 👀. Just imagine: getting paid to play pool, while people like me write unpaid blogs about it. Life is unfair.
And wait, wait — October brings the real showdown: 8 players from Meru vs 8 from Nairobi. Mark my words, this will be war (the fun kind).

Aquadel Insider Tea
Caught up with Curtis Karuga aka Curty, Aquadel’s Marketing Director and commander-in-chief of the Nairobi Elite team. His take?
> “Meru players are good and have stiff competition. We (Nairobi Elite) will need to practice more.”
Translation: Nairobi boys, stop chilling with kaquarter and actually practice.
But Curtis didn’t stop there — he dropped a bombshell: Aquadel Water will be on Nairobi shelves by December. Meaning, from Moyale to the capital, everyone will be sipping on the finest. Nairobi folks, prepare your fridges.

Side Shows & Coincidences
Now, what’s an Aquadel Tournament without side drama?
Murugi – the real MVP. The way she ran up and down, making sales, keeping order, and probably clocking 74km on foot in one night? Someone sponsor this woman a Fitbit.
Office Wars – Aquadel staffers Lemmy (IT guy) and Renson Mwita (Sales rep) found themselves facing off in the knockout stage. Winner? I’ll keep quiet — no need to start HR cases on Monday.
The Bonfire– While inside was cheers and chalk dust, outside was a whole vibe: stories, networking, and bonding over firewood. Aquadel, you people plan these things like you’re hosting the UN.

Closing Shot
Yours truly had an absolute blast. And like I always say — if you don’t read it here, chances are it never happened. See you on October 4th for the next Aquadel adventure. And please, come early. Even windows have limited space.
