365 Days of Ink, Chaos and Clout: My Very Eventful 2025

As a journalist, my mandate is simple: to inform, educate, and entertain. Anything else is volunteer work.
And as 2025 quietly clears its throat and prepares to exit, I find it only right—professionally and shamelessly—to look back at the last 365 days. Dear reader, it was eventful.
Being a freelance print journalist is a lot like being Batman. You do the work, save the city, but rarely appear in daylight. That’s why whenever I tell friends that I am the blogger behind this famous blog, they often go silent—processing, recalculating, and suddenly respecting me differently. People love the writing, but very few can put a face to the name. I prefer it that way.
At the start of the year, I revived this blog after it had been dormant for about three years—deep sleep, no alarm, no dreams. I expected a slow comeback, maybe a few courtesy clicks. Instead, I received mad love and a crazy following. Readers were impatiently waiting for the next masterpiece like villagers waiting for rain. And under pressure, I did what I do best—I delivered.
From wild adventures to trending madness—deadbeat fathers, low bars (ladies bravely narrating how low they went for love), my own adventures with women (purely journalistic research), entertainment, heartbreaks, and premium gossip—I covered it all. CNN could never.
I did interviews.
I attended high-end events.
I promoted brands and public figures.
Honestly, 2025 moved like a weekend, yet somehow carried the weight of a full documentary.
Some stories performed better than others, because let’s be honest—you people love gossip. And this year, nothing beat my story on “The Keg Queen of Makutano.” That piece topped the charts like a hit song. Lesson learned. I’m listening carefully as we head into 2026.
Naturally, popularity came with imaginary beefs. My dislike for slayqueens and fake niggers didn’t sit well with certain groups. But balance must exist in the universe.
Mikocheni Base became my reporting arena. They showed me love, and I returned the favour by making them popular. Mutual benefit. Ethical journalism.
One of my proudest highlights this year was partnering with Aquadel Drinking Water Company. I played a key role in promoting their monthly pool table tournaments, which were always sold out. Through this partnership, I made friends with opinion makers, CEOs, and serious pool table enthusiasts. Special thanks to Mr. Patrick Rungu a.k.a Bloko—together we turned that tournament into a household name from Thuci to Ntonyiri and beyond. A true win-win collaboration.
Worth noting—I stayed completely away from politics. Every political story that came my way was killed instantly. For me, lies don’t make headlines, and peace of mind is priceless.
Of course, it wasn’t all smooth. I also gained haters. Serious ones. Creative ones.
Some said I was a chokora masquerading as a blogger. Others claimed I was riding on AI. Ironically, those same critics now text me for mia ya lunch—and I give it gladly. I was taught not to repay bad with bad, but with good. Like placing hot coal on someone’s head—except I use kindness and mobile money and let guilt finish the job.
So yes, dear reader, 2025 was loud, messy, productive, and unforgettable. And considering blogging isn’t even my main occupation, juggling work and content creation deserves a standing ovation—preferably with refreshments.
As we exit 2025, let me assure you—2026 will be bigger, bolder, and more entertaining. And if you think this is just talk, tonight we hit the ground running as we usher in the New Year pale Aquadel Carwash and Auto Spa in Gakurine, a few metres from Meru–Ruiri Junction.
Because as we say—chema chajiuza, kibaya chajitembeza.
Happy New Year, my dear readers.
Keep it Meru Daily—because this is where we cover everything important.
