As I write this, am deeply concerned by the recent pockets of violence that has been witnessed in Meru County. These leaders have sucked us in their circus, and in their trail to get votes they are living footsteps of distraction that may haunt the Ameru community for a long time. Personally, I am one of the people they call generation y, people who until these campaign period did not know the difference between a person from Igembe, Tigania or Imenti, to me all these people were the great people of Meru. Snakes in Campus? Chuka University guards kill a 3 Meter long Python.

Comrades in Chuka University are in fear after security guards’ from the Tharaka Nithi-based campus killed a python close to 3 metre long. According to some students who were at the scene, the reptile was caught trying to feast on one of the goats from the farm, few meters away from the university's school of media. It is not clear where the snake came from, but the security personnel at the institution believe that the reptile may have sneaked from the nearby mango plantations. "Such large snakes are found in bushy environments, and the thick mango plantation may have been used for hibernation by the snake", said one of the guards at the institution. Well, a few years later,came Ameru Crew, they were energetic and  the Meru people Loved them, they dominated local vernacular airwaves with their hit single 'Twendaneni Ameru'. The crew even got  nominated for the prestigious Groove awards and got calls to perform in a number of high-end events among them, Safaricom live and Groove Meru tour edition. Tharaka Nithi has traditionally been known as home to the popular Chuka dancers whose tantalizing drumming and dance has thrilled many throughout the country especially on national day celebrations. But now the county is getting new image with devolved system of governments which is promoting new tourism ventures. Meru Man seeks to sire 150 Children

The 36-year-old man who now has 17 wives two more than King Mswati of Swaziland and 31 children says he is not done yet. Mr. Kathata who is from a polygamous father takes pride in his wives, according to neighbors and friends the man is said to have a convincing tongue which has made him a darling to women far and wide. Kathata says he is following into the footsteps of his father who had 69 wives and 140 children and he intends to break that record by siring at least 150 children. With all these wives, one would think that it would be a problem to take care of the larger family, but Kathata has managed to build decent permanent houses to all his 17...

Makutano Murder Suspect Surrenders to Police.

Photo/Getty images The incident which happened on Saturday night has left many residents in shock after the suspect slit the deceased throat as people watched in horror. According to multiple sources at the scene, the two men had argued at Kiringa Hotel before the suspect got into his car where he grabbed a sword and killed the deceased near the Makutano Mosque. 'Makinya Ja Jesu’, The Riddle of Jesus in Meru

Jesus set foot in Kenya, well that according to residents of Rwarera location in Meru County, east of Mount Kenya. The natives believe that the area is the real Jerusalem because of the ‘Makinya Ja Jesu’ which loosely translates to ‘Jesus Footprints’, in Kimeru Language.  The set of Makinya Ja Jesu is found on the sedimentary rocks, which cover about 200 acres of land. Next to them are footprints which appear to be those of a donkey or a horse. One of the human-like footprints is huge and inside it is a smaller one. Next to it are two smaller ones which appear to be that of an average adult. The serene area located along the Meru-Ruiri-Isiolo road is also famous for its natural salt water springs known as Monyo, locals’ belief that this water has anesthetic properties and can cure a range of diseases.
