Comrades in Chuka University are in fear after security guards’ from the Tharaka Nithi-based campus killed a python close to 3 metre long. According to some students who were at the scene, the reptile was caught trying to feast on one of the goats from the farm, few meters away from the university's school of media. It is not clear where the snake came from, but the security personnel at the institution believe that the reptile may have sneaked from the nearby mango plantations. "Such large snakes are found in bushy environments, and the thick mango plantation may have been used for hibernation by the snake", said one of the guards at the institution.
