There is nothing as cool as ‘kushikisha’ on a Saturday afternoon on a road trip with your ‘Boys’, it is called ‘kujishukuru’ especially if you have really worked from Monday to Friday, so this should not be mistaken as everyday routine.

Last Saturday we hit the road from some place in Tharaka-Nithi, as usual our good friend ‘Hergesya’ had prepared a good Kilo worth appreciating based on the ‘andas’, the steam was so real at one point my friend threw away a full bottle of juice thinking it was a stick! That kind of ‘andas’.

It is amazing to pass through the amazing snaky road from Chuka to Meru, even after using it more than a million times  I can never help myself from looking through the window to get a  view of the beautiful landscapes.

After reaching Meru as usual we headed to Makutano, Makutano is basically what Westlands is to Nairobi or what Mtwapa is to Coast, a home of entertainment for Meru County.

As we scout around for best chilling spot we notice this new club, Club Underground is the name, but the ironic part is that the club is located on the first floor of a building directly opposite trade centre or TC for the natives.

Curious, we decide to go check it out.
The Underground is the old venus Club but it has experienced a complete makeover, from the graphics to the new VIP sections the management has done a good job to keep up with the ever rising demand for a cool joint in Meru.

The dark theme characterized by black walls and dim lights makes the joint a perfect place to camflauge especially if you want to rave and have fun unnoticed, yea the lighting is so dim you cannot see someone five metres from you.

The sound  is good, but the club management should consider hiring one deejay, they kept exchanging deejays for the night and it seemed a bit boring for the raveheads consisting of young people most of them students from the nearby campuses.
The underground is amazingly cool but should consider hyping their game on customer service, How on earth do you serve whisky on a party cup?

Apart from that this is definitely the ultimate joint to go check next time you plan to rave in Meru.

  1. Man.yeah this just reminds me of what the Eastern province holds and yet unleashed...I thought I was the only one who keeps on gazing at the landscape and of course the 'andas part'
